My top three steps to building a positive mindset.

The power of having a positive mindset is something that more and more of us are becoming more aware of, so much so that in many schools in my area positive thinking is being built into lessons. It's everywhere! Motivational videos is one of the top searched items on YouTube, motivational speakers travel the world giving their advice on how we can develop the lives we've always wanted through believing in ourselves, our products and the results we can achieve.

But just how easy is it to begin building that positive self belief in ourselves?

Thankfully all it takes is a short amount of time from your day, everyday to begin building our self belief and eradicating all of that negative self talk that we all have niggling away at us,

I have three small steps that you can take today to begin building that positive way of thinking and self belief.

Daily Affirmations

The use of daily affirmations is becoming more and more popular with stars of many popular TV shows using them. It might seem strange to be speaking these out loud but there is reasoning behind this. If you say these out loud and with belief you are saying this as an absolute truth to yourself and to the universe.  Give it a go

Makes you feel good right? This is such a simple way to begin developing that positive ad healthy mindset. Make up a set of affirmations which reflect the goals you've set yourself and repeat them daily.

Building Positive Self Talk

We all have self talk, it's that little voice in our heads that we have all those little debates with. Some of these are the best debates we'll ever have. What if we use this inner voice to begin changing the way we think rather than to argue with? How often does your self talk involve questioning whether or not your worthy of your goals? This step goes hand in hand with your positive affirmations.

This is one of the hardest things for us to change because we seem to be pre-designed to have negative thoughts within ourselves so changing this takes time, but it is time definitely well spent.  Throughout the day begin to take notice of your self talk, how many times do you feel doubt in what your doing? How often do you tell yourself that your wrong or use negative words to describe what your doing? When you notice this change it into a positive.

When you make a mistake don't get frustrated, change it. Feel happy that you've found a way not to do something which means your closer to a solution.

If you feel lousy one day tell yourself that you choose to feel good and immediately do something that makes you feel good (turn up the music, dance, sing, think of happy memories) and tell yourself 'I feel awesome today'

The Art Of Being Thankful

How often do you feel thankful for the things that you actually have?
Sometimes it can feel like you have nothing to feel grateful for but that's not true. There are days where it feels like the world is a dark a gloomy place and there is nothing good coming your way. But what about all the good that you may be forgetting about.

Always be thankful for the food you have on the table, the roof over your head, the love you have in your life and your health. Those are just the obvious ones but there is more you can be thankful for.

Do you have big goals that you want to reach?

What about saying thank you as if you have already reached those goals? Try it

'I am so happy and grateful for....'

This one small step practiced every day creates a belief in your mind that your already on your way and the law of attraction states that if you believe and act as though you have already reached those goals, along with putting in the actions required to get there, it won't be long until it is reality.

Getting on the right track for health

We're nearly at the end of February, how's the new years resolutions holding up?

Are those bad habits creeping in again?

There are a whole load of faddy diets and detox plans that will have you starving yourself of the nutrients you need to build a healthy body. I've never been a fan of these and promised myself I would live by the 'everything in moderation' rule.

Well...  lets just say I have a few bad habits that help me break that rule

So whats the answer?

I have come across something that has changed the way I look at food, my tastes and what foods my body craves.

The Clean 9 plan from Forever Living is my hero. It has weaned me off my caffeine habit, my crisp habit and has actually got me eating green stuff (much to the amusement of my girls).

This plan is designed to help you cleanse the body of all the nasties we put into it while ensuring we put all the good stuff we need into it.

What happens when we do that? We gain energy, new habits and get well on our way to good health.

I'm now on a journey to build on my good eating habits with exercise to help boost my energy levels and overall health in the right way.
